Stand on the Schloßstraße bridge and look up at the tree shape the architects intended.
The ICC architects designed this 47-metre restaurant tower in Steglitz, completed in 1976. They imagined a tree, and Berliners named it the Bierpinsel, or beer brush.
It is pop architecture of the 1970s, often listed with Berlin brutalism for its concrete shaft and bold form. It has been empty since 2006 and listed since 2017.
