Hermann Fehling, Daniel Gogel · 1974 · Berlin
Walk around the curved wing to see the board marks in the concrete.
Hermann Fehling and Daniel Gogel built the institute for the Freie Universität between 1966 and 1974. It is the largest project of their office, and it sits next to the Mäusebunker on the Charité Campus Benjamin Franklin.
Curved walls, flat planes and a triangular prism meet in board-marked concrete. Berlin's heritage office listed the building in January 2021, and the SOS Brutalism database includes it.
