Hans Schädel, Friedrich Ebert · 1963 · Berlin
Walk into the walled courtyard and read the wood grain left in the concrete.
Hans Schädel and Friedrich Ebert built this Catholic memorial church between 1960 and 1963 to honour the victims of Nazi persecution.
High concrete walls with formwork marks enclose a courtyard, and the church hall sits above it without columns. The whole site is a listed monument.
