Hermann Fehling, Daniel Gogel, Peter Pfankuch · 1962 · Berlin
Stand on Hauptstraße to see the angular roof and walls break against each other.
Hermann Fehling, Daniel Gogel and Peter Pfankuch built this church between 1958 and 1962. It replaced a war-damaged Art Nouveau church on the same site.
Its angular forms are early work by the team behind the Hygiene Institute, a key brutalist building in Berlin.
