Werner Düttmann · 1967 · Berlin
Look up at the 20-metre concrete tower from the courtyard before going in.
Werner Düttmann built St. Agnes as a Catholic church between 1964 and 1967. A cube of a nave and a rough concrete bell tower stand on a plot in postwar Kreuzberg.
The church held Catholic services until 2004. Johann König took over the complex in 2012, and Arno Brandlhuber converted it into the gallery that opened in 2015.
